Rock Creek is a single boat-in campsite located approximately 8.9 miles downstream from the Camp Baker launch site along the permitted Smith River corridor in Meagher County, Montana. Part of the 59-mile Smith River State Recreational Waterway between Camp Baker and Eden Bridge, this site is consistently regarded as one of the best first-night camping options for permitted floaters and is among the most popular camps on the river. The site is accessible only by non-motorized watercraft; no vehicle or road access exists. A Smith River float permit issued by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks through a competitive draw is required to access this campsite. The primary float season runs from mid-April through mid-July. As of 2024, all floaters are required to pack out human waste from the entire Smith River corridor.
