Red Eagle Lake Head is a primitive backcountry wilderness campsite in Glacier National Park, located at the far end of Red Eagle Lake near the Continental Divide. Reaching the site requires an approximately 15-mile round-trip hike along the Red Eagle Lake Trail from the St. Mary trailhead. The campsite offers vault toilet facilities but no drinking water source. A wilderness use permit is required for all overnight stays from May 1 through October 31, available through Recreation.gov; permits are free and not required November through April. Camping fees of $7 per person per night apply during the permit season. The site is hike-in only with no vehicle access, and no cell service is available from major carriers.
