Cosley Lake is a remote backcountry campground nestled in the northeastern corner of Glacier National Park, reached via an approximately 8–9 mile hike from the Belly River Trailhead. The site overlooks the striking blue waters of Cosley Lake, whose shoreline is edged with distinctive red-toned rock. Four tent sites are available, along with a vault toilet, bear-hang station, and a shared cooking area. No potable water is available on-site — campers must filter or treat water from natural sources. A wilderness use permit is required year-round for all overnight stays; advance reservations open through Recreation.gov with walk-up permits available at designated wilderness permit offices. Permits and camping fees ($7 per person per night) apply from May 1 through October 31; winter camping is free but requires a permit. Cell service is unavailable at this location.
