Cobalt Lake is a designated wilderness backcountry campsite in Glacier National Park, reached via an approximately 11-mile round-trip hike along the Two Medicine Pass Trail from the Two Medicine area. The campsite sits at elevation near the lake, surrounded by peaks including Sinopah Mountain and Painted Teepee Peak. A vault toilet is provided, but there is no potable water — campers must treat or filter all water. No fires are permitted; a camp stove is required for cooking. Overnight stays require a wilderness permit, which can be reserved in advance through Recreation.gov or obtained as a walk-up permit at a park permit office. Each site accommodates up to 4 people, with a maximum party size of 12. Bear-resistant food storage is mandatory. The site is accessible primarily from late spring through early fall.
