Reached by a 0.7-mile descent from the Coal Creek Trail — part of the Nyack Creek-Coal Creek Trail Loop system — this site lies roughly 0.6 miles north of Buffalo Woman Lake in a landscape shaped by old burn areas. No potable water is available on-site; campers must filter or treat water from natural sources. A vault toilet serves the site. A wilderness permit is required year-round for overnight stays, with advance reservations available through Recreation.gov for the June 15–September 30 permit season.
