Gable Creek is a backcountry campsite in Glacier National Park's Belly River corridor, situated alongside a small creek near the Belly River Ranger Station. Four shaded, flat sites are set beneath dense forest roughly seven miles from the Chief Mountain trailhead, making the approach relatively moderate compared to other park backcountry destinations. The creek provides a natural water source that must be treated before drinking. Stock animals are permitted at this campsite. Ranger station staff may check permits during your stay. The site typically opens in mid-June. A wilderness use permit is required for overnight use from May 1 through October 31.
