Elizabeth Lake Head is a primitive hike-in backcountry campsite situated at the upper end of Elizabeth Lake within Glacier National Park's Belly River drainage. The site is reachable via an approximately 6.5-mile trail from the Chief Mountain or Belly River trailheads, traveling through dense conifer forest with mountain views. The campsite accommodates a maximum of four campers and sits in forested terrain away from direct lake views, though the surrounding wilderness landscape offers spectacular scenery. Each site is equipped with a bear box or elevated food-hanging pole. No campfires are permitted. A wilderness use permit is required for all overnight stays; permits are available through Recreation.gov or at a park visitor center and carry a per-person nightly fee during the primary season (May 1 through October 31).
