Hawksbill is a remote wilderness campsite in the northern backcountry of Glacier National Park, situated along Thunderbird Creek near the Boulder Pass Trail. Reaching the site requires a strenuous hike of approximately 14 miles through Boulder Pass, making it suitable for experienced backpackers only. The campsite offers two designated sites, each accommodating up to four people, set in open brush with views of surrounding mountain terrain. A vault toilet is provided; there is no drinking water, so filtration or purification is required. Campfires are prohibited throughout the backcountry. A wilderness use permit is required and must be obtained through Recreation.gov; a per-person nightly fee applies during the permit season from June through October. Bears are active in the area — proper food storage is essential.
