The second-largest camping area in Surprise Cove State Marine Park, located on an exposed beach northeast of Point Cochrane. The site can accommodate five tents but is only suitable for use during fair weather due to beach surf conditions. Abundant tide pool life can be observed at Point Cochrane during minus tides. Facilities include a small bear-proof locker and latrine at the main beach camping area. This boat-in or float plane access site sits on the western side of Cochrane Bay, approximately 15 miles east of Whittier in Prince William Sound. Part of a park offering seven camping areas total, with activities including fishing, boating, sailing, kayaking, and hiking.
