A remote boat-in or floatplane-access Alaska State Marine Park located on the western side of Cochrane Bay, approximately 13 miles from Whittier in Prince William Sound. The park features about seven camping sites on various terrains including gravel beach, island wetlands, and dry coastline areas. The primary camping area at the gravel beach can accommodate approximately 12 tents and features three wooden tent platforms for elevated camping above the shoreline. A small bear-proof locker and latrine are centrally located at this beach. Water can be obtained from streams that feed into Surprise Cove. This is one of the most popular anchorages in western Prince William Sound. The park includes forested uplands and two large lakes draining into Surprise Cove. Activities include kayaking, camping, hiking on maintained trails, and wildlife viewing. Abundant tide pool life can be found at Point Cochrane during minus tides.
