Caribou Island is a primitive riverside campsite along the Gulkana Wild and Scenic River, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This small site offers 4 campsites on an island formation within the river, providing a secluded camping experience for paddlers and float trip travelers. Part of the Gulkana National Wild River corridor, the site is accessible only by watercraft. No developed facilities or potable water are available. Visitors may encounter wildlife including moose, caribou, and various bird species along this remote stretch of designated Wild and Scenic River.
