Quartz Creek is the smallest and most primitive campground in Glacier National Park, offering seven tent-only sites in the park's remote North Fork area on the west side. The campground sits along Inside North Fork Road, a narrow, winding, unpaved route approximately 5.7 miles south of Polebridge. The road's tight curves and limited pullouts make it unsuitable for vehicles longer than 21 feet or any trailer combinations. Sites come equipped with picnic tables and fire rings; vault toilets are provided, but no potable water is available — visitors must pack in their own supply. Active grizzly and black bear populations in the area require all food, beverages, and cooking equipment to be secured in a hard-sided vehicle or bear-proof container. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis throughout its season with no advance reservations. A 6.2-mile one-way trail to Lower Quartz Lake provides a rewarding day hike from the area. Cell service is generally unavailable.
