Ole Creek is a designated backcountry wilderness campsite in the remote southern portion of Glacier National Park, accessible via the Ole Creek Trail near Essex, Montana. This hike-in site offers solitude in a forested mountain valley far from developed facilities. A wilderness permit is required for all overnight stays; advance reservations are available through Recreation.gov, while walk-up permits can be obtained at NPS ranger stations. A vault toilet is provided on-site, but no potable water is available — visitors must treat or filter water from natural sources. Standard per-person camping fees apply during the summer season (May–October), with free winter permits available November through April.
