Lake Isabel is a remote backcountry wilderness campsite within Glacier National Park, situated at a trout-filled subalpine lake nestled beneath a rugged cirque. The campsite is accessible only by a long hike of approximately 14.5 to 16.8 miles from the Walton Ranger Station on US Highway 2 via the Park Creek Trail, with a final 2.3-mile climb on the Lake Isabel Trail. The route receives very little traffic and is frequently overgrown, making it well-suited for visitors seeking solitude. Two tent sites are available, including one site suitable for stock animals. A vault toilet is on site; no potable water is available, so visitors must treat natural water sources. A backcountry wilderness permit is required for overnight stays, with a $7 per person per night camping fee. Campfires are permitted at designated fire rings.
