Kintla Lake is Glacier National Park's most remote frontcountry campground, sitting on the northwest shore of its namesake lake deep in the quiet North Fork area. About 40 miles of rough dirt road separate it from the park's west entrance, making it one of the least-visited drive-in sites in the park. Thirteen tent-only sites occupy dense forest with filtered lake views and mountain backdrops. Potable water is supplied by a hand pump, and vault toilets are on-site. No motorized watercraft are permitted on the lake, so paddling and fishing are the primary on-water pursuits. The campground operates in two modes: a summer season (mid-June through mid-September) and a primitive season covering portions of spring and fall. No reservations are accepted — sites are first-come, first-served. Vehicle combinations longer than 21 feet cannot safely navigate the access road.
