Hole in the Wall is a remote backcountry campsite set within a dramatic alpine cirque in Glacier National Park's northwest corner. Reachable only after a multi-day hike via the Boulder Pass Trail, the site rests below an 800-foot waterfall that pours down the headwall above camp. Every tent pad offers sweeping mountain views across the cirque, with wildlife including grizzly bear, mountain goat, and wolverine present in the surrounding terrain. Open fires and horses are prohibited to protect the fragile alpine ecosystem. A wilderness use permit is required for all overnight stays between May 1 and October 31; permits are available through advance lottery on Recreation.gov or as walk-up permits at a park wilderness permit office.
