Upper Skilak Lake Campground is a developed, wooded campground nestled along the shores of Skilak Lake in Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. This scenic campground offers 25 sites suitable for both tents and RVs, with some walk-in tent sites available. The campground provides excellent access to fishing for trout, hiking opportunities along the Skilak Loop trails, and stunning views of the lake. Wildlife viewing is common, with black and grizzly bears frequently spotted in the area. The campground is reached via gravel Skilak Lake Road, about 20 minutes from Sterling. Amenities include vault toilets, potable water, and a boat launch for water access.
