Mount Costigan (LM 20) is a designated backcountry campsite located 18.8 km along the Lake Minnewanka shoreline trail in Banff National Park, accessed from the Lake Minnewanka day-use area trailhead east of the Banff townsite. The site has five campsites equipped with bear lockers; campfires are permitted. Between July 10 and September 15, seasonal bear management measures are in effect: hikers must travel in groups of at least four people, bear spray is mandatory, and dogs and bicycles are not permitted on the trail. The distance from the trailhead makes this campsite best suited for experienced backcountry travellers. A Parks Canada backcountry camping permit (per person per night) and a valid national park entry pass are required.
