Jo Bonner Campground sits on the northeastern shore of Canyon Ferry Reservoir, approximately 30 miles east of Helena. Managed by the Bureau of Reclamation, this 17-site campground accommodates tents and RVs up to 28 feet in length. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. During the recreation season a campground host is on-site, with vault toilets, potable water, and trash service available. A gravel boat launch with a courtesy dock adjacent to the campground provides direct access to one of Montana's largest reservoirs, making it a popular base for fishing and water recreation. Sites are reservable through Recreation.gov. Camping fees apply during peak season from the first weekend of May through the second weekend of September; off-season access is available at no charge.
