West Cameahwait Group is a free campground on the eastern shore of Clark Canyon Reservoir, roughly 20 miles south of Dillon via I-15. The site offers three established campsites with picnic tables and fire rings, two vault toilets, a drinking water pump, and a group-use picnic shelter. Sitting at approximately 5,500 feet elevation along this Bureau of Reclamation reservoir on the Beaverhead River, the area is popular for fishing, boating, and water skiing. Stays are limited to 14 days. No reservations are accepted — camping is first-come, first-served. The nearest services are in Dillon, about 20 miles north.
