Beaverhead is a free, primitive campground on the north shore of Clark Canyon Reservoir, operated by the Bureau of Reclamation approximately 20 miles south of Dillon. Sites are distributed along the reservoir shoreline and offer direct water access with views of the surrounding high desert landscape. Many sites include covered picnic shelters, fire rings, and flat, open camping areas suitable for tents and larger RVs. Vault toilets and hand-pump drinking water are provided on site. No electrical hookups are available. A 14-day maximum stay limit applies. A nearby boat launch provides access to the reservoir for fishing and water recreation. ADA-accessible facilities are available on site. Convenient proximity to I-15 makes this a practical stopping point for travelers passing through southwestern Montana.
