Located at milepost 82.1 of the Taylor Highway near Chicken, this BLM campground offers 24 camping sites with 18 pull-through sites along the Walker Fork River. The facility is part of the Fortymile Wild and Scenic River region and provides a remote wilderness experience in Alaska's Interior. Each site includes a grill, fire pit, and picnic table. The campground features one covered picnic area with an accessible picnic table and grill, as well as vault toilets. Site 23 is designated for bicycle or motorcycle only, Site 15 is handicapped accessible, and Site 25 has a tent platform right next to the river. A public gold-panning area is available on Jack Wade Creek from one quarter mile upstream of the campground to the mining claims near milepost 85. All sites are first-come, first-served with no hookups or phone service available.
