A free campground operated by Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge, located at Mile 1256.7 of the Alaska Highway on the shore of Yarger Lake. The facility offers 11 lakeside campsites with basic amenities including picnic tables, vault toilets, firepits, a photo blind for wildlife viewing, and garbage containers. A boat launch provides access to Yarger Lake for fishing and paddling. The campground is not recommended for trailers, fifth wheels, or RVs exceeding 30 feet in length. No drinking water is available on site. All restrooms are ground level or have ramps, and picnic tables are accessible for visitors with mobility challenges. Open from April through October on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit in any 28-day period. Visitors must sign the register at the kiosk upon arrival. Both black and grizzly bears are present in the refuge, so keeping a clean campsite and properly storing food is essential. The campground provides a quiet base for exploring Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge and viewing migratory waterfowl and other wildlife.
