A year-round recreation area along the Richardson Highway, featuring camping, fishing, and winter activities at Birch Lake. The facility includes both drive-up RV parking spaces and designated tent sites with tables and fire rings. Summer visitors enjoy the boat launch with accessible dock, swimming, and excellent fishing for stocked rainbow trout, king salmon, silver salmon, grayling, Arctic char, and northern pike. Winter activities include ice fishing and snowmachining, with rentable ice fishing huts available from November through April. Located at Mile 305.3 Richardson Highway, about 60 miles southeast of Fairbanks. A public use cabin is also available for reservation.
Campsites are first-come, first-served; only cabin and ice huts can be reserved
Open year round. Boat launch and courtesy dock with ADA Access. The lake is stocked with rainbow trout, king salmon, silver salmon, grayling, Arctic char, and northern pike. Ice fishing huts available for rent in winter.
Only the Cabin and Ice Huts are reservable online. Reservations can be made up to 7 months in advance.
