Wonder Lake Campground is CLOSED through 2026 due to the Pretty Rocks Construction project on Denali Park Road. When operational, this remote tent-only campground sits at mile 85 of the park road, offering 28 sites with stunning views of Denali (Mount McKinley). The campground features potable water, vault toilets, and bear-proof food storage lockers. A one-mile trail leads from the campground to the McKinley River, with off-trail hiking permitted in the area. The site is accessible only by park shuttle bus and offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing including moose, grizzly bears, and waterfowl.
