Indian Road is a free, first-come-first-served campground managed by the US Bureau of Reclamation at the southern end of Canyon Ferry Reservoir, just north of Townsend on US Highway 287. The 40-acre site sits along the Missouri River and offers direct access to the reservoir for fishing and boating, including a boat launch ramp. Campsites are small and best suited for cars, vans, pickup truck campers, and small trailers — large RVs may find maneuvering difficult. A children's and accessible fishing pond is located near the campground. Vault toilets with disabled access are available on-site, but there is no potable water. Maximum stay is 14 days. Firewood may be scarce, so bringing your own is recommended.
