Horseshoe Hole is a free, primitive dispersed camping area managed by the Tongass National Forest, situated at the end of a timber road in the Staney Creek watershed on Prince of Wales Island. The campground offers two campsites with hardened tent sites, fire rings, and picnic tables, but no outhouses are available. A short walk through the woods provides access to Horseshoe Hole on Staney Creek. The area features miles of roads to explore, excellent fishing opportunities on the creek and its tributaries, hunting, and superb berry picking. Wildlife viewing is abundant in the area. Sites are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day stay limit.
