About

A remote backcountry camping area on the northern shore of McCarty Fjord, within Kenai Fjords National Park. Accessible only by kayak, boat, or floatplane, this paddle-in site is approximately 51 miles southwest of Seward along a 22-mile glacially carved waterway. McCarty Fjord features tidewater glaciers and dramatic coastal scenery. No developed facilities exist at this location. Visitors must be fully self-sufficient and practice proper food storage due to bear activity. Beach camping in the park requires no permits, but campers should check current conditions with park staff before departure.
