Explore Campgrounds

Paddle-in backcountry camping area in Northwestern Fjord within Kenai Fjords National Park. Accessible only by kayak or boat. No permits or fees required for backcountry camping. Proper food storage is mandatory throughout the park. Backcountry camping allowed except within 500 feet of public use cabins or within 1/8 mile of roads or trails at Exit Glacier. Fires allowed using dead wood only with fire pans or beach fires below tide line. Operating season depends on coastal conditions and ice-free waters typically during summer months. Northwestern Fjord features calving glaciers icebergs marine wildlife and dramatic granite walls.
