Bob Brown Conservation Area is a 3,307-acre bottomland conservation area along the Missouri River in Holt County, Missouri. Named for the late Robert A. Brown, a St. Joseph conservationist, the area features three miles of Missouri River frontage. The landscape includes mixed lowland hardwood forests, grasslands planted with cool- and warm-season grasses, agricultural crops, and restored Missouri River wetlands that provide critical habitat for migrating waterfowl. Free dispersed camping is available for up to 14 consecutive days in any 30-day period. From Forest City, take Holt County Road 290 west 2.5 miles to access the area. This Missouri Department of Conservation area supports activities including camping, hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 PM to 6 AM daily.
