This 82-acre Alaska State Parks facility features 36 campsites located at Mile 96.6 of the Parks Highway, approximately 15 miles north of Talkeetna and 90 miles north of Anchorage. Operated under contract by Susitna Recreational Camps Inc (Montana Creek Campground), the recreation site offers excellent access to Montana Creek for fishing king salmon, silver salmon, and rainbow trout. All campsites accommodate RVs with no size restrictions and include picnic tables and fire rings. Flush toilets and water are available on-site, though campers must bring their own firewood. The facility is particularly popular with bank fishermen due to its prime creek access. Reservations can be made online through the contractor.
