A trailhead and road access point located at mile 14.4 of Hatcher Pass Road in the Hatcher Pass East Management Area. The approximately four-mile Archangel Road leads toward the historic Fern Mine and provides access to hiking trails, including the popular Reed Lakes Trailhead at mile 2.9. The road is often very rough during summer months with high ground clearance vehicles recommended, especially beyond mile 2.8 where the road is not maintained and becomes very rocky. The area offers year-round recreation including hiking, berry picking, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling, though the road is closed to motorized use during winter. Day use only with no camping facilities.
