King Mountain State Recreation Site is a scenic 20-acre campground located along the Glenn Highway at Mile 76, offering stunning views of the Matanuska River valley. The recreation site features 22 campsites suitable for both tents and RVs of any size, with no length restrictions. Each campsite is equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. The facility provides vault toilets and central water access, along with a picnic shelter for group gatherings. The site is open from March through September and offers reservations through its concessionaire. Located near Chickaloon, it serves as an excellent base for exploring the area, with nearby ATV trails available for additional recreation. A 14-day camping limit and 2-vehicle maximum per site applies.
