Thumb Cove State Marine Park

A 720-acre State Marine Park located approximately 9 miles south of Seward on the east side of Resurrection Bay, offering beach camping with fine to medium sand and beach cobble shoreline. Fresh water is available from a stream flowing from Porcupine Glacier. The park features two public-use cabins for rent, including one wheelchair-accessible cabin. Beach camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations required for campsites. Open fires are permitted only on ocean beaches, preferably below mean high tide. The park has no developed campsites or facilities such as running water, designated restrooms, or trash collection - visitors must pack out all trash. Access is by private boat, floatplane, or commercial water taxi service only. Popular activities include camping, fishing for salmon, kayaking, and backcountry exploration.
