A 26-site campground along Cooper Creek in Chugach National Forest, located at milepost 50.7 of Sterling Highway near Cooper Landing. The campground is divided into two areas - Cooper Creek South with approximately 20 sites bordering Cooper Creek, and Cooper Creek North with several sites along the Kenai River banks, including 3 designated tent-only sites. Amenities include water, vault toilets, picnic tables, fire pits, and dumpsters. The campground provides access to premier salmon fishing on the Kenai and Russian Rivers, the 38-mile Resurrection Pass Trail for hiking and biking, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Due to active bear presence, all food and scented items must be stored in hard-sided vehicles or provided food lockers. Reservations are recommended, especially for weekends, with some first-come, first-served sites also available.
