South Grizzly Beach (site 8R5, also known as Basin Bay Point) is a designated backcountry campsite located on the shoreline of Shoshone Lake in Yellowstone National Park. This boat-in site is accessible via canoe or kayak and features a primitive pit toilet and abundant tent sites. The bear pole and cooking area sit on a small bluff above the lake, offering views of the Shoshone Geyser Basin and Shoshone Lake. The site is well off the trail down a half-mile spur path, providing excellent privacy for paddlers.

8R5 is a gorgeous site well off the trail with pit toilet and abundant tent sites. Bear pole and cooking area on small bluff above lake with views of Shoshone Geyser Basin. The tent sites for 8R5 are nicely sheltered in the trees but a short walk to the shore. The spur trail to reach campsite 8R5 is quite lengthy at nearly half a mile.
