Basin Beach is a designated backcountry campsite (site code 8T1) located on Shoshone Lake in Yellowstone National Park. This walk-in site is positioned at mile 9.6 along the Shoshone Lake trail system and provides access to the park's largest backcountry lake. The site is accessible only by foot via trails including the Delacy Creek Trail. Due to potential wet conditions, this site may not be reserved for dates before July 1. Food storage poles are provided for securing food and scented items using at least 35 feet of rope. Wood fires are not permitted in this region - visitors must use propane or white gas stoves. A backcountry permit obtained through Recreation.gov is required year-round, with maximum stays of 1-3 consecutive nights.
