Mountain Ash Creek is a walk-in backcountry campsite located along the Mountain Ash Creek Trail in the Cascade Corner region of Yellowstone National Park. The trail is an 11.6-mile route that begins just south of Yellowstone at the Grassy Lake Reservoir dam base and provides access to Union Falls. This designated backcountry site is one of several campsites (9U1-9U5) along the trail corridor. A backcountry permit is required for overnight stays. The area provides access to some of Yellowstone's most impressive waterfalls.

Timing your trip from mid-August through September is usually a good window. The Falls River ford should not be tried before mid-July.
