Mallard Lake Outlet is a designated walk-in backcountry campsite in Yellowstone National Park, located in the Old Faithful area near the outlet of Mallard Lake. The site requires a backcountry use permit year-round for all overnight stays. The park maintains 293 designated backcountry campsites throughout its trail system. Permits cost $5 per person per night plus a $10 reservation fee, available through Recreation.gov or in person at backcountry offices.
