Madison Campground occupies a meadow setting along the Madison River in the western section of Yellowstone National Park, positioned at 6,800 feet elevation. The facility features 278 individual campsites plus 3 group sites, accommodating RVs up to 40 feet, tent campers, and walk-up hiker/cyclist spaces. Sites include picnic tables and fire grates but lack electrical, water, or sewer hookups. The campground provides 14 public restrooms with flush toilets and cold water, dishwashing stations, an RV dump facility, and a small mercantile store selling camping supplies and provisions. Services are located sixteen miles east at Old Faithful or fourteen miles west outside the park. Quiet hours run from 10 PM to 6 AM, with generators permitted 8 AM to 8 PM on RV sites. Maximum stay is 14 nights during peak season (July through Labor Day) and 30 nights during shoulder seasons.
