Lone Star is a designated walk-in backcountry campsite in Yellowstone National Park, accessed via the Continental Divide Trail in the Old Faithful area. The site is located near Lone Star Geyser, which erupts approximately every three hours. A backcountry use permit is required year-round for all overnight stays. Permits cost $5 per person per night plus a $10 reservation fee, and are available through Recreation.gov or in person at backcountry offices.
