Backcountry campsite 8S3 on Shoshone Lake in Yellowstone National Park. This walk-in site offers lakeside camping accessible by hiking trail. 8S3 is a campsite on Shoshone Lake and can be accessed only by foot. About 3 miles to the lake, and another mile to campsite 8S3 from the DeLacy Creek Trailhead.
8S3 - Coyote. Great campsite with great views along the lake, more private, and the food prep area is right on the water. NO WOOD FIRES in this region.
The US Fish and Wildlife Service believes that Shoshone Lake may be the largest lake in the lower 48 states that cannot be reached by road.
All backcountry overnight stays require permits year-round. Reservations must be picked up in person at a park office.
