Log Gulch Campground sits on the shores of Holter Lake, a Missouri River reservoir in west-central Montana about 45 miles north of Helena. This BLM-managed facility offers 70 gravel-pad campsites that accommodate RVs, trailers, and tents, with a maximum of two units per site and two tent-only sites in the Little Log Gulch area. Amenities include potable water at multiple locations, vault toilets, fire rings with grill grates, and picnic tables. A concrete boat launch with a courtesy dock provides lake access; overnight dock slips are available first-come, first-served for registered campers. No electrical hookups are available. All sites require advance reservations through Recreation.gov, with a seven-day consecutive stay limit. The lake supports fishing, boating, water skiing, and wildlife viewing, and the Gates of the Mountains Historic Site is accessible nearby by watercraft.
