Holter Dam Campground sits along the western shore of Holter Lake on the Missouri River, approximately 45 miles north of Helena. Managed by the Bureau of Land Management, this is the smallest of the campgrounds in the Holter area, with 16 sites tucked just below the dam. All sites include covered picnic tables with fire rings, and the campground has double vault toilets and multiple water faucets. A nearby boat launch provides direct access to Holter Lake for fishing, boating, and water skiing. An accessible campsite with wheelchair-friendly picnic table and sidewalk connections is available and must be reserved through recreation.gov. Wildlife including bighorn sheep have been spotted near the campground entrance. Fees apply from mid-May through mid-October; access is weather-dependent in winter months.
Per night per site. Half price for America the Beautiful Senior/Access pass holders. Fees charged mid-May through mid-October.
