The Shooting Range camping area is a free, designated camping site within Whetstone Creek Conservation Area, a 5,147-acre property managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation in Callaway County. The site is located near unstaffed shooting ranges within the conservation area, which includes a rifle/pistol range (paper targets only) and a shotgun range (clay targets). Range hours run from one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset. Camping is available in designated spots as shown on the area map, with no developed facilities. Quiet hours are in effect from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Campers may stay for up to 14 consecutive days in any 30-day period.
