5th St John Dam is a primitive campsite in the North Maine Woods region of Somerset County, Maine, located near the outlet dam of 5th St. John Pond. The site is part of the authorized North Maine Woods camping system and serves as a common starting point for canoe trips down the St. John River. Like all authorized NMW campsites, the site has a steel fire ring, cedar picnic table, and a vault toilet. There is no running water. Entry to the North Maine Woods requires a camping permit issued at a checkpoint, and parties must camp only at authorized, marked campsites.
