Carpenter Pond is a primitive, fire-permit campsite within the North Maine Woods region of Piscataquis County, Maine. The site is located roughly one mile from the nearest parking area via a rugged access road, making it a walk-in wilderness destination. As a fire-permit site (not a fully authorized North Maine Woods campsite), it receives minimal maintenance and lacks a formal outhouse or picnic table. The pond attracts a small number of dedicated visitors, primarily in spring. Entry to the North Maine Woods requires a camping permit issued at a checkpoint.

Carpenter Pond is a wonderful site with miserable road access, a fire permit campsite rather than an authorized site; walk-in of less than a mile from parking; gets use in spring from a loyal crowd but rarely anyone there by high summer
