Never-Never Land is a primitive tent-only hike-in campsite within DeSoto State Park, located 0.75 miles from the Lost Falls Trailhead at 1,470 feet elevation on Lookout Mountain. The site features an 8x10 foot three-sided trailside shelter built in 2011 through collaboration between Alabama State Parks, the National Park Service, and NASA. Located in the Forever Wild Tract near an unnamed seasonal stream, this backcountry site accommodates one party at a time with a maximum capacity of 6 people and 2 tents. A designated fire pit is available for campfires. DeSoto State Park, situated eight miles northeast of Fort Payne, encompasses over 35 miles of hiking trails, 11+ miles of mountain biking trails, waterfalls, and diverse wildflower displays. The park also offers an improved campground with 94 full-hookup sites, additional primitive camping areas, backpacking campsites with shelters at two locations, and wall tent glamping accommodations.
