A small emergency shelter cabin located approximately 10 trail miles from Twelvemile Summit Trailhead at milepost 86 on the Steese Highway via the Pinnell Mountain National Recreation Trail. The shelter is available on a first-come, first-served basis and features a water catchment system for rain and snowmelt, though water requires treatment before use. Activities include camping, hiking, wildlife viewing, and photography along this challenging 27-mile alpine trail through the Steese National Conservation Area.
