A primitive roadside camping area located at mile 17.8 on Nabesna Road within Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. The site offers views of the Mentasta Mountains and adjacent wetlands, making it a popular spot for wildlife viewing. Moose and caribou are frequently observed here, and the area provides excellent opportunities for watching migrating and nesting waterfowl including ducks and trumpeter swans during spring and summer. Camping is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dead Dog Hill Rest Area is located at Mile 17.8 on Nabesna Road in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. All sites along Nabesna Road are available on a first-come, first-served basis during the seasonal operating period.
